WCS ready to launch K-12 virtual education platform option through Schoology for the 2020-21 school year

Warren Consolidated Schools is pleased to announce that the district will launch a K-12 virtual education option for students through the Schoology online education platform if the Covid-19 pandemic requires it at some point next school year.

Schoology, a learning management system, has all the tools WCS teachers need to create engaging content, design lessons, and assess student understanding. Students and teachers can interact through interactive discussion boards, and grading tools allow teachers to provide many forms of feedback.

“We all know that nothing can truly replace a great teacher in a traditional brick and mortar classroom, but given the uncertainty of the future, the district felt it was important to have a virtual option ready for our students should the need develop next year,” Superintendent Robert D. Livernois, Ph.D. said.

During the summer months, teachers and staff will be working to prepare the K-12 online option for students. In August, WCS will provide more information regarding the K-12 online platform that will take WCS to new virtual heights this fall.

“I am very excited about our new K-12 online option that will provide students and families a much more streamlined and comprehensive approach to learning at home,” Livernois said.
