Warren Mott High School Football Coach named Detroit Lions/Farm Bureau Insurance High School Football Coach of the Week

Warren Mott High School Football Coach Tom Milanov was named the 2016 Detroit Lions/Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan High School Football Coach of the Week.

Milanov, who has a career record of 89-74, is in his 20th year of coaching and 17th season as the head coach of Warren Mott. Warren Mott is ranked number six in Division 1. Milanov led the Marauders to a 40-6 victory over Fraser to run their record 6-0 on the season and clinch a berth in the 2016 Michigan High School Football playoffs, their 11th playoff appearance in school history.

“Tom Milanov is a phenomenal coach who has worked hard to build an outstanding football program,” Warren Mott Athletic Director Dave Noble said. “I appreciate all he has done to build this program academically and athletically.”

As part of the Detroit Lions/Farm Bureau Insurance High School Football Coach of the Week program, one coach is recognized for his/her commitment to the team, school, and community, as well as developing their players’ character, discipline, and football skill, in addition to emphasizing player health and safety in the program. The winner is selected by a panel of high school football media members.

Milanov will receive a $2,000 donation to the Warren Mott Football program and is in the running for the Detroit Lions/Farm Bureau Insurance High School Football Coach of the Year which will be announced at the end of the football season.
