Freshmen Girls Basketball Highlights

2015-2016

1-26

The freshmen girls basketball team traveled to Chipppewa Valley to play the Big Reds. The Stallions were down early 6-0 and the girls had to make a quick adjustment and they responded right away. The Stallions went on a 32-2 run that lasted through the third quarter. To preserve energy with his 7 girl team, Coach Pavicic switched to a zone defense in the second half and rotated all players and used timeouts for resting purposes. Sara Chehab led all scorers with 12 points. The Stallions have had a different leading scorer in the last 4 contests in which they have all been victorious. Coach Pavicic is pleased with how well the team shares the ball and plays as a team. Nobody is trying to be in the spotlight and put up the most points. The team's focus is hard work, improving every practice and game and ultimately getting the win. Katie Schultz and Tamia Everett also scored in double digits. Kaitlyn Demerath had key rebounds and steals throughout the game, Go Stallions!

12-19

Yesterday the freshmen girls basketball team earned their first victory of the season beating MAC Red opponent Romeo 27-22. The team was led by Katie Shultz who had 13 points! Tamia Everett had 6 points to go along with her numerous rebounds! Kaitlyn Demerath, Sara Chehab and Christina Lulaj added valuable minutes with their hustle and energy. The ladies move to 1-2 and look to even their record this Friday against Mott. Come out and support your Stallions!
