L'Anse Creuse - Sterling Heights

The Sterling Heights High School Junior Varsity Softball team took the field and lost to L’Anse Creuse today. Although the score didn’t reflect the effort, the Stallions still played with a great deal of pride. The Stallions were led in the hitting department by Emily Schultz who hit a really nice double to left field. Additionally, Ellen Pierce managed to steal second on a great “Delay Steal.” Many other Stallions were on base through quite a few walks by the L’Anse Creuse pitcher.

Sterling Heights - Clintondale

Maybe it was the fact that it was a beautiful day? Maybe it was a little “Home Cooking?” Maybe the reality of it was the pitching and hitting came together in one great game? Whatever it was, the Sterling Heights High School JV Softball team played terrific on Tuesday as they beat Clintondale High School. The Stallions received some great pitching by Alannah Dulecki today. How about striking out the side in the first inning to set the tone for her three inning, mercy rule shortened game?! If that wasn’t enough, she received some key hits from her teammates backing this beautiful performance. Madison Johnson, Liz Martin and Jessica Heilman had two hits apiece for the Stallions. They were followed by a host of others who were on base multiple times during the game today.

Lamphere 11 - Sterling Heights 8

On the bright side the Stallions received some really nice pitching from Alannah Dulecki and Renee Nellis. From the offensive standpoint, Andrea Haslett and Emily Schultz provided the Stallions with a single, a walk, and a stolen base each.

On the other side of the field, the Stallions played some very sound defense with Taryn Renshaw making some very nice plays at second base.
