About the class

Global financial citizenship is designed to help students understand the impact of individual choices on occupational goals and future earnings potential. Real world topics covered include income, money management, spending and credit, as well as saving and investing. Students design personal and household budgets; simulate use of checking and saving accounts; demonstrate knowledge of finance, debt, and credit management; and evaluate and understand insurance and taxes. This course provides a foundational understanding for making informed personal financial decisions.

Major Concepts

 

Tax Budget and Financial Records

Students will learn how their budget and spending affects their taxes, and why keeping financial records are important and useful.

 

Checking Accounts and Other Bank Services

Students will learn how to open and keep track of their checking account. Students will also learn how to take advantage of other banking services.

Careers in Finance
