These may include evaluation, eligibility, programs, related services (i.e. speech/social work, etc.), specialized transportation and transition services. The Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) outlines the legal guidelines for procedures involving programs and services for eligible students from birth to 26 years of age. Child Find is a component of IDEA that requires states to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities, aged birth to 21, who are in need of early intervention or special education services. Services to students with disabilities attending private/parochial in the Warren Consolidated School District receive services under the conditions of the Auxiliary Services Act. All of theses services are arranged and coordinated in the Special Education Department. Students with Disabilities (SWDs) receive services and programs via Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The Warren Consolidated Special Education Department coordinates services with the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD), to bring the best in education to students with diverse needs.
