Welcome to our classroom!
Recommended internet sites…. This website is from our reading series. There are some awesome
activities relating to the weekly story that we
are studying in class. Great math website. Can be
modified according to student’s ability.
Some important information about our classroom: ·
Agendas should be signed
by an adult on a nightly basis ·
Please help your child
empty his/her backpack every night.
Look for notes from the office, from our classroom, and any homework
that might go home. ·
Reading: Please make sure your child reads for 15 –
20 minutes every evening. This will
help strengthen his/her reading skills and comprehension. Just a reminder….book reports are due the last day of every
month. When books have been completely
read, students will take an accelerated reader test on our classroom
computer. ·
Birthdays: We will celebrate birthdays during lunch in
the cafe (summer birthdays will be celebrated in May). However, please adhere to our school-wide
birthday policy. *No cupcakes, cake or ice cream please. ·
Snacks are allowed. Please make sure it is a fruit or
vegetable. No drinks (with the
exception of water bottles) are allowed.
Spelling words are sent home every Monday. Spelling tests are every Friday. Vocabulary words are also sent home every Monday. Reading comprehension and vocabulary tests
are every Friday.

Students who are absent are responsible for making up any
homework they miss. Students have been
instructed that they need to copy the agenda on the day they were absent to
determine what work they missed. If
your child has been absent, please remind them to find out what work needs to
be made up. BEING ABSENT IS NOT AN
EXCUSE FOR MISSING ASSIGNMENTS! Please be sure to dress your child according to the weather.
It would be very helpful if students wear gloves, a hat and scarf during the
winter months. Please write your child’s name on the tag of his/her
jacket. This way if they leave it out
on the playground we can return it to it’s owner.
Don’t forget to bring your gym shoes on Thursdays!
Library day is Monday and Wednesday for students taking media
and Friday for students taking band.
Remember to bring your books to school on the morning of your library
day.
Remember to practice your multiplication and division facts
every night.
**Due to the fact that we have several spelling groups in our
class, it is impossible to put the words online. Students should be taking their 2 times
each, as well as a list from their practice book, home every Monday to
study.** |
