The Effect of electromagnetic Waves on Zebra Mussels

The purpose of our experiment was to observe the effect of 10.5 gigahertz electromagnetic waves on zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha). The mass of the experimental group being treated with the waves was compared with the mass of untreated control group. Both groups of mussels decreased in mass over the testing period; the experimental group slightly more so than the control group. Using graphs and statistical analysis including the mean, maximum, and minimum of the data, we showed that 10.5 gigahertz waves have little or no effect on zebra mussels.
