Electrochemistry and Copper Plating

The experimenters choose to experiment in the area of electrochemistry because of its many uses, including the ability to beautify various objects through copper plating. They choose to work with copper because it wa relatively cheap and easy to plate with. After finding an experimental process on the Internet, the experimenters decided to perform a three-factor Design of Experiment. The factors they thought would be the most influential on the copper coating were resistance in the series, temperature of solution, and time allowed to react. After running the experiment and working with the data, the experimenters found that no resistance in series, high temperature solution, and a high amount of time allowed the greatest mass of copper plated. They also found, however, with a simple experimental process such as this, that it is difficult to get a reliable copper coating.
