Let's Get Ready To Rubber!

Driving in Michigan winters can be hazardous, especially with unreliable tires. In our experiment, we tested two different types of rubber to see which type of vulcanization proved to be the most durable. The two types of rubber were Thiokol, vulcanized with sulfur; and Polybutadiene, vulcanized with phenolic resins. to test the rubber samples we exposed them to different weather conditions and measured their durability. We defined durable as a small variation from the control which was not exposed t the weather conditions. The complete process is described in detail within the paper. You may ask what this has to do with tires. Well, tires are made of rubber. We simply wanted to see what type of rubber would be best for your tires.
