The Effects of Simulated Stomach Acid on Chewing Gum

The purpose of our experiment was to determine the effects of simulated stomach acid on three types of chewing gum. The gum was chewed and massed in grams. Equal numbers were placed in jars of acid and in jars of distilled water. The gum was massed twice after being allowed to dry. The two groups were compared by using two-sample t-tests and by observation. Our null hypothesis was that the two groups came from the same population. We failed to reject our null hypothesis.
