The Analysis of Tap Water Versus Lake Water

Samples were collected from three homes and three different water sources, such as lakes and streams, around Macomb County. We compared five important factors in judging the purity and health state of the water. We tested for different levels of dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, alkalinity, hardness, and pH. Our hypothesis stated that the home water would be much purer than the lake water. We compared the lake water to the home water in order to validate our hypothesis. We also compared the home water to the state standards for water.
