The Concentration Ratios of Regular and Premium Gasoline and the Difference Between Those Ratios in Relation to the Increase in Octane Rating

In our experiment sought to find the concentration ratios of hexane, heptane, nonane, octane, and decane in gasoline samples of 87 octane and 92 or 93 octane. We also compared what changes are made to go from regular 87 octane gasoline to the premium 92 or 93 octane gasoline. We sampled three gas corporations, taking samples from two different gas stations of each brand. We ran each sample through a gas chromatogram, which separates the compounds and measures their concentration by heating the samples in the column until they eluted.
