Producing Electricity Using Waves and a Solenoid Magnet Apparatus

With our experiment we determined that using a convex float in our solenoid magnet apparatus generated the most electricity. We used a solenoid suspended over water with a magnet going through the center of it. This magnet was attached to either a convex or concave float. The motion of the water pushed the magnet through the solenoid and generated electricity which we measured. A float was put in the water, which was attached to the magnet and pushed the magnet through the solenoid. Through statistical analysis we determined that the convex float was the most effective. This is probably true because of the greater surface area of the float that is actually in the water.
