The Effects of Light Concentration, Surface Area, and Temperature on the Electrical Output of a Solar Panel

The objective of this experiment was to determine if light concentration, surface area, and temperature had an effect on the voltage output of a solar cell. The point was to find the best way to utilize a solar cell. This experiment is useful because it can be used to determine how to use solar panels in a more effective way and advance green technology. During the experiment, a light was aimed at a solar panel that was heated or cooled, had a large or small surface area, and the light was concentrated or scattered. The voltage output from the solar panel was then recorded to compare the groups. The results showed that the only significant effect was that of the surface area; a higher surface area solar panel would increase the electrical output.
