Meet Highlights 2016



On Friday, October 28th, the Stallion Cross Country team competed in the MHSAA Regional Championships at Lake St. Clair Metro Park (AKA Metro Beach) hosted by Grosse Pointe South. 

The ladies had 2 competitors in Mairna Asker and Sofia Mansour who both turned in solid personal performances. The girls did not have the required 5 runners to achieve a team score.

The season concludes on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. 



On Saturday Morning, the Stallion Cross County Teams competed in the Macomb County Championships at Baypoint Beach within Stoney Creek Metropark.


For the girls, Selina Shiana continued to lead the way at the County Championships. Running with 3 girls, the Lady Stallions were not eligible for a team score but ran many solid times. Shiana finished in the top halfof all female competitors. 


Next up for the Stallions will be the Division Championships, on the 22nd, followed by the most important race of the season, the MHSAA Regional Championships on the 28th. Both meets will be held at Metro Beach.


The ladies were led on Saturday by Selina Shiana. Shiana ran a tough race and finished with her 3rd best career time.


On Tuesday 9/27/16 the SHHS XC teams competed in the second, and final, MAC Blue Jamobree at Centerline High School. 

The girls were led by Selina Shiana who turned in a lifetime best performance of 23 minutes and 57 seconds over the 5000 meter course! Shiana's previous best time was 25:12! The girls did not have the required 5 members to receive a team score, but the 3 that did compete ran very tough!

The Stallions will be competing in 2 separate meets later this week due to SAT tests. Burley and Lebelt will be at the Waterford Mott Invitational on Friday with the rest of the team will travel to Brighton on Saturday for the Coaching Legends Invite--one of the most competitive meets in the state!

On Friday the SHHS Girls Cross Country teams traveled to East Lansing to compete in the Michigan State University Spartan Invite. The ladies turned in strong personal performances, led by Selina Shiana, Jaime Dumm, and Sofia Mansour all significantly improved their personal bests in the, "Green Race" which is all division 1 and division 3 teams.

Overall a great day of racing for the girls! The next time they roe the line will be on September 27th for the MAC Blue Jamboree #2 at Centerline High School.
