Staff Ace Simon Momeyer led the Stallions back to Clawson on Thursday to wrap up their 3 game MAC Silver series with the Trojans.  He pushed through a tough hitting line-up and allowed 4 earned runs while striking out 4 batters.  Even more impressive was Simon getting another base hit to stretch the JV leading hit streak this season to 5 games and breaking up a stellar performance by the Trojans who had struck out 8 of the previous 9 Stallion batters.  Momeyer is hitting .417 during that 5-game stretch.  Freshman Connor Zamfir notched another solid base hit, and has heated up himself hitting .400 in the series against Clawson.  Once Momeyer's arm hit a wall against the Clawson bats, Ian Barber took his first shot at the mound this season, and after a walk got two outs to squash the Trojan rally.  Go-to reliever Adam Labudde continued the trend blanking Clawson in the 4th.  The JV Stallions will wrap their season next Tuesday when they travel to Roseville to complete a rain-out with Roseville from earlier in the year and finish their MAC Silver season.

Simon Momeyer continued his hot streak at the plate by taking a lead-off walk in the 1st inning, advancing on a sacrifice bunt by Adam Labudde,  and scoring on a solid double by Alan Nasser, who finished 1 for 3 on the day.  Momeyer led off the 3rd with a base hit to boost his average on the year.  The improving Stallion Defense continued, with some great plays in the field again by Simon Momeyer behind the plate gunning out runners, Adam Labudde locking down the shortstop position, Joey Hudzik completing a few put-outs, and Joey Karbousky throwing an outstanding 5 innings of baseball allowing just 3 earned runs on the day.  The Stallions will take on the Trojans of Clawson once again on Thursday, before wrapping up their season next week with a road game against Roseville.

Simon Momeyer continued his hot swinging with a lead-off base hit to start Game #2 with Lamphere, and ended his day going 2-for-4 with a stolen base.  Joey Karbousky was one-for-one with a walk and a base hit,  The Stallions stranded four runners in the first two innings and just couldn't get one more solid hit to push their runners across the plate.  The Lamphere Rams bats exploded in Game #2 spraying the field with line drives that kept finding the grass.  The Stallion Defense kept up their solid day doing all they could to limit the bases in the shortened game.  The Stallions hope to maintain their improved glovework this week when they match up with MAC Silver foe the Trojans of Clawson High School for three games this week before the Stallions Strike Out Cancer in a program wide event @ SHHS & Warren Mott High School.

On a beautiful day for baseball, the JV Stallions Defense came to play in Game #1 of their DH @ Lamphere HS in Madison Heights.  A much improved performance after the 1st inning allowed the game to extend into the 6th and forced the Rams to earn their runs.   After a shaky start, Joey Karbousky settled down and allowed just one earned run after the first for just 3 earned runs on the day.  Simon Momeyer went 1-for-2 in a great game at the plate after being robbed in hid first at-bat on a line-shot by an outstanding play by the Lamphere shortstop.  Mario Graziani made a heads-up double play to shut down the Rams in the 2nd, and Ian Barber retired the side in the 5th inning running down three long fly balls to push a 6th inning.  Debate in the Stallion dugout could not determine a consensus on whose glove-work was most deserving of a "Web Gem" for their defensive play, but the Coach's vote goes for Barber in the 5th.

The Stallions JV squad hosted the Richmond Blue Devils of the Blue Water Athletic Conference in a MAC/BWAC crossover on Thursday.  The Blue Devils jumped to an early 10-0 lead on numerous defensive errors by the Stallions.  Darrin Pierce allowed just one earned run in the inning that forced the Stallions to attempt to come from behind early.  Mario Graziani took a relief role and shut the Devils down blanking them in the second.  The Stallion bats were very quiet until catcher Simon Momeyer broke up the Blue Devil perfect game with a seeing-eye base-hit to start off the second and eventually load the bases on some great at-bats by the Stallions, who left them loaded to end the second.  Alan Nasser legged out an infield base-hit in the third, but the Stallions once again could not force a run to cross the plate in the third.  The Stallions will host MAC Silver opponent Roseville on Friday @ Home before taking on the Lamphere Rams in a double-header on Saturday.

The JV Stallion Baseball team wrapped up their trip to the 2nd Annual Lakeview Huskies Classic @ Kyte Monroe in St. Clair Shores by dropping their 2nd game to the Patriots of Livonia Franklin.  The Stallions were no-hit by the Patriots, but threatened to get on the board when Bannon O'Brien and Connor Zamfir took walks in the 3rd and advanced to second and third base.  The Freshman Combo of Chris Edwards and Darrin Pierce allowed 5 earned runs on 10 hits in the loss, but showed good stuff on the mound with only one walk in the game.  The Stallions look forward to returning to MAC Silver play this week when they host Roseville on Monday and then travel to Roseville on Wednesday & Thursday for a 3 game match-up this week and try to better their .500 MAC Silver record.

The JV Stallion Baseball team competed in the Lakeview Huskie Classic on Saturday and matched up with Notre Dame Prep in Game #1.  Joey Karbousky threw the first 2 innings against a hard hitting Notre Dame squad allowing 9 hits through 2 innings and took the loss.  Sophmore Mario Graziani relieved Karbousky and felt the effects of defensive miscues.  Both hurlers showed composure and confidence in a game that provided little offensive support.  Freshman Chris Edwards got the lone hit for the Stallions in the bottom of the first to prevent an immaculate statline by the Fighting Irish.

The JV Stallion Baseball team wrapped up their series with the Center Line Panthers on Thursday.  Simon Momeyer took the hill and put on an impressive display striking out 9 and allowing only 3 hits through a six inning complete game.  The Stallion Defense looked much improved, and never slipped up after taking a lead in the first inning and never trailing throughout the game.  The real story was on the base paths, as the team ran the bases heads up and took what they could all day long.  Five different Stallions scored, with lead-off hitter Adam Labudde reaching safely five times and scoring 4, and Darrin Pierce crossing the plate 3 times with a couple of base hits.  The Stallions plan to continue playing smart baseball this Saturday @ Kyte Monroe @ 9:00 @ 1:00.
