Varsity Girls Volleyball

Game and Season Highlights 2017

On Thursday, September 28 the Sterling Heights Volleyball Program held a cancer awareness night. Each student wore a special jersey with the name of a loved one who suffered from cancer on the back. We are proud to say that because of cancer awareness efforts such as these, three students did not wear a name on their shirt because they do not know anyone who has been touched by cancer. The varsity volleyball team collected their first league win topping Lakeshore in 5 sets. This win was a team effort as each member of the team, with exception to those who are injured, made an appearance against Lakeshore. The girls are looking forward to the next home match vs. Utica on Oct. 5th.

On Tuesday, September 26 the Varsity Lady Stallions played a hard fought match at Fraser High School. The night started off slow, but the girls were able to extend the match to four before falling just short of extending to a fifth set. They are looking to come back strong against Lakeshore on Thursday.

On Saturday, September 23 the Sterling Heights Varsity volleyball team played in a tournament at Port Huron High School. The day started slow, dropping the first match to Port Huron Northern, but the stallions came back strong taking both sets from Berkeley and Utica. Splitting with Lakeview put the Stallions into bracket play, where they finished the day with a loss in the semifinals to Fenton. Overall, it was a great day of competitive volleyball.
