¡Bienvenidos a las clases de Señora Shea!

(Welcome to Mrs. Shea’s Classes)

The fifth graders fashion show is next week (May 10).  Some students did their presentations today, but the others will do it next week or the following week if we need more time.

This is the rubric sheet.  This is the vocabulary for clothing and colors.

Remember that the clothing item goes before the color in Spanish and agrees in number and gender.

For example:

the red shirt = la camisa roja (change the o to an a because camisa is a girl word

—you can tell because it starts with “la”)

the red pants =los pantalones rojos (add an s to red because pantalones are plural boy word

—you can tell because it starts with “los”)

the red sunglasses = las gafas de sol rojas (change the o to a and add s because gafas are a plural girl word –you can tell because it starts with “las”)

the red coat = el abrigo rojo (red stays the same because abrigo is a boy word

—you can tell because it starts with “el”)

The 4th graders will have the option to take an animal and adjective quiz during their lunch recess on Thursday, May 10th if they want to improve their current understanding grade.  If they scored 14 or higher on their numbers quiz in February, they are not eligible for this optional quiz.  If your child wants to do this quiz on Thursday, May 10th during their lunch recess, you need to contact me via email (see above) or a note in my mailbox by the morning of Wednesday, May 9.  If they take the quiz, it will count toward their grade no matter how they do.  It will be a matching quiz.  My study guide will be posted on here only.  If you need a copy, you need to request it in your email or note in my mailbox.  If your child forgets or is absent on the day of the quiz, I will NOT be providing make-ups as this is optional.

Welcome back!!

You should find the Siersma flashcards sets I created for you.

If you choose the test option, I would advise that you choose to do multiple choice or matching so you don’t have to worry about spelling correctly.  If you choose the space race game, I recommend that you highlight terms instead of definitions so you don’t have to worry about Spanish symbols while typing.
