For any families who did not receive my e-mail regarding our recent
parent/guardian survey, I am very pleased to share with you
the results. The surveys were filled out by our families
during the "Breakfast with Moms" and "Donuts with
Dads" breakfasts in February. Our School
Improvement Team tallied all of the surveys recently and
calculated the percentages for each question. A total of 217
surveys were collected.
Below is the breakdown of the survey responses:

99% YES
2. Do you feel the staff is helpful when you have a
question or concern? 98% YES
3. Do you think your child is receiving a quality
education? 97% YES
4. Does your child enjoy coming to school? 97%
YES
We are very thankful to our families for their comments
and feedback on the survey. We truly value your input and we are happy with
the partnership that we have with you. In addition, I am very proud
of my staff and their efforts as illustrated by these survey
results. The high caliber of teaching and care they
provide on a daily basis for our students is outstanding!
Our 3rd and 4th graders will
participate in the “Count Your Steps Program” again this year.
The program will go from April 16th-May 13th. Pedometers will provided
to our third and fourth graders in an effort to track their steps. Aside
from the pedometers the 3rd and 4th graders will
receive, they will also receive a “Count Your Steps” student
logbook. This logbook will be how
the students will log the amount of steps they accumulated each week. The
“Count Your Steps Program” also encourages the students to make
healthy food choices. To reinforce
this, the students can earn bonus points for each serving of fruits and
vegetables that they eat. After the four weeks of the program, the students
who have accumulated the most steps will have an opportunity to win prizes.
I would like to recognize our 5th grade Band,
led by Mrs. Sandy Mayberry, on a wonderful job at the recent Flynn and Grissom
Area Band Concerts. The hard work that the students have put in all year
was showcased at both of these entertaining concerts.
Talent Show Returns to Susick! This spring our students will have an
opportunity to show off their special talents for our Susick
Talent Show. More information on
specific dates and times will be coming home soon. We are planning to host
the Talent Show during the school day for all students to view and an
evening show for parents and community members.
