“Where Imagination, Lifeskills
and Diversity are Embraced”
Every Monday morning, all
Wilde teachers meet for 45 minutes in a Professional Learning Community. A Professional Learning Community strives to
increase student learning by addressing four basic questions:
·
What do we want
students to learn?
·
How will we know
if they’ve learned it?
·
What will we do
if they don’t learn it?
·
What will we do
if they already know it?
Together we developed a
vision, a mission, and collective commitments.
A vision is what we are
seeking to become. Our mission is what we believe. Collective
commitments are statements that the entire staff agrees to do.
Teachers work in grade level
teams to address the above-mentioned four questions. They examined data to learn the strengths and
weaknesses of our students. This
information was used to develop SMART goals—goals that are specific,
measurable, attainable, and time bound.
The teachers will be working on strategies to achieve these goals.
VISION
Wilde Elementary will provide now and in the future,
multiple levels of learning to ensure all students’ success in a safe and
secure atmosphere.
Wilde Elementary believes
that our children are our most precious resource.
Through the combined efforts of parents, school,
and community, we will develop our children
as lifelong learners, problem solvers, and thinkers
by recognizing their individual and unique learning styles.
Wilde Elementary is an environment
that is safe, supportive and motivating.
It affirms individuality and nurtures the feelings of
self-worth and self-esteem within each child.
It is a community that fosters responsibility and feelings of belonging.
It embraces diversity and promotes citizenship and resourcefulness.
Parents and staff work collaboratively to ensure that every child will thrive
because each is valued and encouraged to develop without limits.
