Welcome to Warren Mott High School MYIG!

In MYIG students get to set up a mock government where students discuss issues important to them.
Here are some of the positions WMHS MYIG offers:
House- Students will set up mock legislation in the House. In the House students will debate their and others bills, trying to pass or fail them.
Senate- Student will set up mock legislation in the Senate. In the House students will debate their and other bills, trying to pass or fail them. The Senate is smaller than the house, so debate will be a little easier.
Lobbyist- A lobbyist will advocate passing or failing a bill. Lobbyist’s do this by speaking in committees or speaking to individual members of the House and Senate when sessions are going on.
Written and Electronic Press Corps- In Electronic and Written Press students will become familiar with events happening at MYIG, and write reports about that.
National Issues Forum- Students will create a proposal that can target any issue around the world and debate it.
Governor- Juniors with 1-years’ experience can run to become governor, they attend many conferences.

*The House and Senate also have leadership positions such as Speaker of the House, Chair, Clerk, and inspirational leader. They must also be elected.

The cost for the MYIG is $380, but you have time until February 1st to fundraise money to pay for this trip, and you may be able to win a scholarship worth $100.

You will also be able to attend a one day trip in the fall.
